Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA)
RYLA Youth Leadership Pop Up Camp is a one day event, held February 22, 2025 at the Cosmosphere in Hutchinson, KS. This camp offers an opportunity to discuss the possibilities and responsibilities of being a servant leader, and highlights what Rotary is doing in different communities!
RYLA Youth Leadership Summer Camp is an intensive leadership experience designed to encourage students to be more effective servant leaders. Action-packed activities, like problem solving games, challenge course, group discussions and team-building activities, help participants build confidence and leadership skills. These activities are conducted in an atmosphere of trust and respect and are designed to assist students to:
- Build communication and problem-solving skills
- Discover strategies for becoming a dynamic leader in your school or community
- Learn from community leaders, inspirational speakers, and peer mentors
- Unlock your potential to turn motivation into action
- Have fun and form lasting friendships
Many participants have said, “It was the best week of my life!”
The 2025 RYLA Camp will be held May 27-30 at Southwestern College. The Rotary Club of Derby sponsors two Derby High School students to participate in this all-expense paid four-day leadership camp. High school freshman, sophomores and juniors may apply by contacting the principal’s office.
